Daily 5

I have implemented "Daily 5" into my Language Arts block.  I am excited with the progress that each student makes. I enjoy that students are able to accomplish each skill no matter what their individual level might be.  It took a lot of work and "building of stamina" for the readers to become successful, but it has been a blessing.

I am still able to pull small group, but I actually get more one-on-one time with my struggling readers.  I use conferences to talk with my students about what they are reading, as well as listening to them read.  This also helps us revisit our "I-PICK" strategy, by confirming that they are making good book choices.
