Daily Math

Math time is comprised of a Whole Group lesson, then we move into rotations.  In the rotations, students go between a mini lesson with the teacher, math tubs, and journal work.  The journal work is presented at the end of the whole group lesson just before students are sent back to their seat to start our rotations.  I call students to mini lessons based on learners leveled groups.  Typically there are three groups: remedial (basic break down of skills), on level (review guided practice with elaboration), and advanced (extending of skills).  Not all students stay in the same groups, since skills change weekly.
